5 positions where no prior experience in aviation is required.


Aviation can be a challenging industry to break into. People who work in the industry tend to stay in their position or company for a long time, regardless of pay or workload.


If you're an outsider looking to get in, it might seem like an impossible task but there are few open positions currently available where experience in the industry isn't required and might even be a plus!


Here are 5 open roles to get you thinking about getting on board with a Canadian Airline.



Canadian North is asking for a 2-year diploma in accounting or related work experience, 1 year of experience in accounts payable, and previous experience with Sage300.


Being EPIC is an important Sunwing qualification (entrepreneurial, passionate, innovative, and customer-centric). You will also coordinate, assist and support the implementation of business solutions, operational systems, and processes in


alignment with business strategies and initiatives. You will be responsible for documentation of functional requirements for Web and content management.


As a member of Air Transat's Marketing Studio team within the Marketing Department, the French copywriter will be responsible for writing, adapting, and revising marketing content for all types of media (traditional and digital). The incumbent’s captivating writing style and creativity will help bring to life the tone of voice of the Transat brand.



"The purpose of this position is to lead the development and implementation of the medium to long term, internal and external Diversity, Equity and Inclusion practices for WestJet, ensuring that these practices are embedded within the organization and that diversity is understood as a critical success factor for the organization." External experience in this space could help WestJet adopt industry-leading practices in this space.


You might need an extra language but no prior aviation experience is required to become a flight attendant, at any airline. You must be safety and service-focused, adaptable culturally sensitive, empathetic, and collaborative.
